The former four-star out of Sunrise Christian high school
was a main piece in last season’s recruiting class and had a solid first season for the Buckeyes.
In thirty games played this season, he averaged 4.4 points per game while shooting 39% from the field and 45% from three. He missed the Buckeye’s NIT run due to a unspecified family emergency back home.
Middleton is the second player to enter the transfer portal this offseason, the first being Bowen Hardman. Middleton enters the portal with three years of eligibility remaining if and when he decides to come back to college. He chose the Buckeyes over UConn and Kansas last season. It is expected that Miami and Seton Hall will be frontrunners to land his services.
Ohio State has now lost two players to the transfer portal this offseason, with Middleton joining sharpshooter Bowen Hardman.
