Ohio State Recruiting: 2026 OLB Shaun Scott Talks Ohio State Offer, Interest

On March 28th, the Buckeyes hosted some of the best players in the 2026 Class. Outside linebacker Shaun Scott was on campus and Ohio State extended him an offer. The Buckeyes have built a great relationship with Scott.

First off, the offer meant a lot to Scott due to the history of the Ohio State football program. He was offered by LB coach James Laurinaitis and head coach Ryan Day, Scott told The Silver Bulletin. A lot stands out to him about the Buckeyes: “The winning culture they have, and they have the most first round draft picks.”

Plus, his growing relationship with Coach Laurinaitis is great, “My relationship with Coach Laurinaitis is good for sure. I visited my freshman year in March, and we have been in contact ever since.” But another relationship will help the Buckeyes: “Coach Larry Johnson also, when I visited he sat me down, and we had a great meeting.” As well as Coach [Josh] Chorba, the outside linebackers coach. Scott said, “[Chorba] has been in contact almost every other day.”

Additionally, he raved more about Coach Laurinaitis, “He not only is coaching for Ohio State, but he played for Ohio State. So it would be a blessing to be a part of his linebacker core. He had many accomplishments and was an Ohio State legend.” Laurinaitis’ accomplishments and background are helping Ohio State immensely on the recruiting trail. The Buckeyes are going to be a school to watch in the future for Scott.

Scott is unsure of top schools at the moment, but the Buckeyes are one of the schools he’s been in contact with the most. Tennessee is another school he has been in contact with, and expect more schools to surface. In the summer, he wants to visit schools and build lifelong relationships.

Scott holds offers from Ohio State, USC, Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado, among others.
