Jackson, who was a top target for the Buckeyes in the 2016 class, originally began his collegiate career at Auburn before heading to Blinn College (JUCO), before ultimately landing at Ohio State ahead of the 2018 season. He spent four seasons in Columbus, recording 48 tackles and 3.5 sacks in that time, primarily spent as a rotational player on the interior of Ohio State’s defensive line.
After not being selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, Jackson participated in New York Giants rookie minicamp but was not offered a contract. He was the No. 66 overall choice by the Seattle SeaDragons in the 2023 XFL Draft and spent the season with them, notching 20 tackles and playing in nine of the team’s 10 games. He then received an invitation to Carolina’s minicamp, where he impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a shot during the upcoming preseason.
Jackson joins fellow former Buckeyes Vonn Bell, Michael Jordan, and CJ Saunders on the Carolina offseason roster.
