During his four years at Oklahoma State, McCalister notched 119 tackes, 11 passes defensed, and an interception. He had five tackles in the Cowboys bowl win over Notre Dame. He will add to a safeties room that is expected to include Josh Proctor (fresh off injury), Bryson Shaw (who started most of 2021), and others.
McCalister is the second player Ohio State has landed through the transfer portal this offseason, as the Buckeyes also added Arizona State running back transfer DeaMonte Trayanum to play linebacker.
