Bullet Points: Hero Kanu Commitment Watch, and New 2023 Names To Watch

In this week’s Bullet Points, we have some commitment watch info, as well as a few names we should start to hear more about surrounding the 2023 class.

First off, Ohio State finally landed its big time interior offensive lineman for the 2022 cycle last night when Carson Hinzman announced he was committing to the Buckeyes. Hinzman is the No.8 ranked IOL in the country, and is expected to make a big impact from the time he gets to campus.

Ohio State has picked up a couple commitments over the past week with Omari Abor and Hinzman joining the class. Now all eyes point to Ohio State’s last priority lineman target in Hero Kanu.

If you have been reading Bullet Points for the past three weeks you will know I am all in on Kanu and I have heard that Kanu has actually already signed his letter of intent and has been waiting for the All-American game to make his announcement. When Saturday finally gets here, I full expect Kanu to select the Ohio State hat.

Looking forward to the 2023 class, a name you should start to get familiar with is AJ Hoffler. Hoffler resides out of Atlanta, Georgia and is ranked by the 247 rankings as a top 300 player nationally. Hoffler comes with great size at 6-foot-5, 245-pounds. The Buckeyes offered Hoffler a couple months ago and Ohio State has quietly been separating themselves from the pack. I would not be surprised if we got an out of the blue commitment similar to Cedrick Hawkins last week who joined the 2023 class after receiving his offer not long ago. There does not seem to be any major pressure from the in state Bulldogs, but I still would not be too worried as Hoffler as mentioned before that Ohio State is his dream school.

Another 2023 name I wanted to zero in on was Kyle Kasper who is a 6-foot-5 WR out of Gilbert, Arizona. Kasper also received his Ohio State offer a couple months back and this one has been trending all Ohio State ever since. Ohio State has really started to build on that pipeline from Arizona. Brian Hartline will look to strike gold again in desert after landing Kyion Grayes in the 2022 cycle out of Chandler Arizona.

We stay in Arizona for the last name to keep an eye on here in 2023 and that’s Grayes’ Chandler teammate: defensive lineman A’mauri Washington. As soon as Washington earned his Ohio State offer, it’s been trending all Ohio State’s way. The Buckeyes have started to build that Arizona pipeline as mentioned before and Washington is going to be included in that by the time his recruitment ends.

There you have it: three major names to keep an eye on and all three who are expected to join the class within the next three months.

Stay posted for more Bullet Points.
