Ohio State has officially put the finishing touches on what could become one of its best offensive line classes in recent memory, securing a commitment from Caden Moss.

The versatile Mississippi offensive lineman announced his pledge to the Buckeyes after an impressive official visit to Columbus, giving offensive line coach Tyler Bowen the final piece he was searching for in the 2027 cycle.

Moss chose Ohio State over several top programs, most notably his hometown Ole Miss Rebels. While the Buckeyes earned the commitment, everyone involved understands that this recruitment is far from over. In today’s recruiting landscape, commitments are simply the beginning of the next phase. Ole Miss is expected to continue making a strong push to keep the Mississippi native home, making this a battle that could very well continue until National Signing Day.

Still, Ohio State accomplished exactly what it set out to do by getting Moss on campus and showing him why Columbus is the right place for his future.

The Final Piece Up Front

For months, Moss was viewed as the final major target on Ohio State’s offensive line board. Bowen had already assembled an outstanding foundation, but adding a player with Moss’ versatility and upside was always the final objective.

Standing out because of his athleticism and positional flexibility, Moss is capable of playing virtually anywhere across the offensive line. Whether it’s guard, tackle, or even center in an emergency, he possesses the football intelligence and movement skills to contribute at multiple spots.

Ohio State, however, has a very specific vision for his future.

The Buckeyes see Moss beginning his career at offensive tackle, where his length, athletic ability, and footwork give him the opportunity to develop into a high level edge protector. If needed down the road, Bowen believes Moss has the versatility to slide inside, but the plan from day one is to develop him as a tackle.

That positional flexibility only increases his value within the class and gives Ohio State another chess piece as it continues building the future of its offensive line.

With Moss now in the fold, Ohio State’s 2027 offensive line class appears complete.

He joins fellow commitments Kellen Wymer, Jimmy Kalis, Brody McNeel, Davis Seaman, and Mason Wilt to form a group that many believe has the potential to be one of the strongest offensive line hauls Ohio State has signed in years.

Perhaps just as impressive as the talent is the chemistry.

Throughout the recruiting process, this group has become one of the closest position groups in the country. The commits have remained in constant contact, frequently recruiting prospects alongside the coaching staff while building relationships that should carry over once they arrive in Columbus. That camaraderie played a role in Moss’ recruitment as well, with the entire offensive line class hosting him during his official visit and making him feel like part of the group before he ever committed.

A Statement Win for Tyler Bowen

When Tyler Bowen arrived in Columbus, there were naturally questions about how quickly he could establish himself on the recruiting trail.

Those questions have been answered.

Landing six offensive linemen, including pulling Moss away from Ole Miss, is a significant accomplishment and speaks to the relationships Bowen has built in a short amount of time. More importantly, this class reflects exactly the type of offensive linemen Bowen wants to coach. Athletic, versatile, physical, and capable of developing into multi year contributors.

While Ohio State will have to continue defending Moss’ commitment over the coming months, this is still a major recruiting victory. Winning battles in SEC territory is never easy, especially when trying to pull a prospect away from his home state school.

For now, the Buckeyes have their man.

If this class stays together through signing day, Bowen may have assembled one of the most complete offensive line groups Ohio State has signed in the modern recruiting era, and Moss may ultimately prove to be the final piece that brought it all together.
