On Senior Day, Caden Curry left his legacy with a big game as the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated Rutgers 42-9.

It was a crisp afternoon in Columbus as the Buckeyes defeated the Scarlet Knights 42-9. After a slow first half, Ryan Day opened up the offense in the second half, allowing Ohio State to pull away comfortably. As we approach rivalry week, let’s break down who shone against the Scarlet Knights.

Buckeye Running Game

Bo Jackson had a fantastic day, rushing for two touchdowns and a team-leading 110 yards. Even quarterback Lincoln Kienholz showcased his athleticism, adding 37 yards on three carries. Isiah West chipped in with tough runs of his own, finishing with 48 yards. James Peoples also made a significant impact, breaking free for a 49-yard touchdown and ending with 55 yards on just three carries.

The Buckeye run game is gaining momentum at the perfect time. For the second consecutive week, Ohio State rushed for over 200 yards, finishing with 254 on the day. The ground attack is peaking as the Buckeyes head into rivalry week.

David Adolph

In his final game as a Buckeye in The Shoe, the Dublin native played a major role in the run game, delivering key perimeter blocks that helped spring several long runs. Adolph also contributed as a receiver, securing two critical third-down receptions for 23 yards.

The senior celebrated with his teammates while the Buckeyes were still without Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith due to injury. Look for Adolph to continue helping Ohio State prepare for a playoff push.

Max Klare

Max Klare stepped up in a huge way with Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith sidelined. Julian Sayin found Klare early and often, targeting him for seven receptions, 105 yards, and a touchdown. Klare’s 39-yard reception in the first half helped set up a Brandon Inniss touchdown in the second half.

With Smith and Tate still working their way back, Klare has become a valuable and reliable weapon in the Buckeye offense.

Caleb Downs

Caleb Downs continues to prove he is one of, if not the best, defenders in college football. Downs was everywhere once again, making an impact in both the passing and running game. He finished with three total tackles, one tackle for loss, and a huge sack off a stunt blitz.

Downs is putting together an All-American campaign. As a Thorpe Award finalist, he is positioned to lead the defense into a deep postseason run.

Caden Curry

Caden Curry closed his final game in the Horseshoe with authority. The senior led the team with six total tackles, including four solo stops, two tackles for loss, and two sacks.

Curry has been Ohio State’s most productive defensive end this season. Whether he earns All-Big Ten honors remains to be seen, but alongside Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs, Curry is helping lead the No. 1 defense in college football into Ann Arbor next week.
