Ohio State Basketball: Buckeyes Hire Jamall Walker as Assistant Coach

Ohio State has filled their basketball staff with the announcement today that Grand Canyon’s Jamall Walker will join the program as an assistant coach.

Walker comes from Grand Canyon, where he was an assistant under Bryce Drew for the past four seasons. Prior to that, Walker spent eight years at Illinois and three at Ohio University, sandwiched between one year as the director of basketball operations at Arizona. He has been lauded for

Walker was a noted point guard during his playing days at St. Louis, notching over 350 assists, which ranks in the top ten in St. Louis program history.

The Buckeyes have now added Dave Dickerson, Joel Justus and Walker to their staff, replacing Jake Diebler (promoted to head coach), Jack Owens (left for DePaul) and Brandon Bailey (left for DePaul).

Ohio State is expected to make one more move to replace Mike Netti. The leader in the clubhouse to land the position is current Baylor director of operations Luke Simons.
