BOOM!! 2026 Four-Star Guard Marcus Johnson Commits to Ohio State

Jake Diebler lands his first recruit as head coach for the Buckeyes in four-star 2026 guard Marcus Johnson out of Cleveland, Ohio. Johnson is the cousin of Meechie Johnson who recently returned to the Buckeyes after transferring to South Carolina two seasons ago.

Johnson chose Ohio State over many offers that included Alabama, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Villanova, West Virginia, and more. Johnson is currently the number one ranked player in the state of Ohio for the class of 2026, and is the twenty-fourth ranked player in the country by 247 Sports.

This past season Marcus was named the 2023-24 Ohio Player of The Year by Maxpreps and the Ohio Division One Player of The Year. He averaged 23.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 50% from the field and 39% from three-point range as he helped lead Garfield Heights to a 25-2 record and a Regional Finals appearance.
