Ohio State Recruiting: 2026 QB Briggs Cherry Talks Ohio State Visit

The Buckeyes enjoyed a dominant win over Michigan State last week. While earning their 38-3 victory, the Buckeyes hosted some top talent.

One of the talented players was 2026 QB Briggs Cherry, from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Cherry is an early name for the Buckeyes 2026 Class, and it is well deserved. Cherry has high interest in the Buckeyes, saying “After being there for a night game and getting to see the campus for the second time, they definitely moved up on my list.”

Additionally, Cherry has a great relationship with the staff, “I have a good relationship with Coach Fitch and still building my relationship with Coach Dennis and Coach Hartline.” Plus, a lot stood out to him about the game. “The passion of the fans, the tailgating and the pre-game skull session,” Cherry said. “The atmosphere of the game was wild from the beginning.” He raved about the atmosphere, “It was electric from the beginning of the game until the end, even though they had their lead.” His favorite part of his visit was being close to the Buckeyes, “Just being down on the sideline pregame and seeing all the players and talking with the coaches.”

Despite the visit, Cherry is in no rush for a commitment or anything along those lines. “My recruitment is going well, I’m in no hurry to rush any decisions. I’m just blessed to be given the opportunities to make my way around the country.” It’s very early in his recruitment but he holds offers from many programs, like Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and more. But, he holds interest from many elite programs all over the country. He attends the same high school as Ohio State commit and four-star tight end Max LeBlanc.
