The Buckeyes hosted many elite prospects in their 20-12 win over Penn State.
One of those 2026 prospects was QB Dia Bell from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It’s very early in the 2026 process and despite not holding an offer from Ohio State yet, there is still plenty of time in his recruitment and time for the Buckeyes to potentially offer.
American Heritage QB @DiaBell3QB1 tells me that he will be in attendance Saturday to watch the Top 10 match up between Ohio State and Penn State. Dia is ranked a 4⭐️ by Rivals and On3. And holds offers from the likes of Penn St, Miami, Florida, WV and others .. #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/ewMMn3F78Y

First, Bell had an outstanding visit, “I had an awesome visit to Ohio State. I really got a chance to see what Big Ten football was all about.” He raved about the atmosphere at Ohio Stadium, “The atmosphere is what stood out to me the most,” Bell said, “The fans were incredible and the Shoe was unbelievable.” Besides the atmosphere standing out there was one more thing sticking out to him: “I think the physicality of the game stood out as well.”

Additionally, the Brotherhood is a key thing in Ohio State’s football program, “I could see the brotherhood for sure. I could see the former players that were back to support and how excited they were for the guys.” He compared the culture of Ohio State to his high school, American Heritage High School. “Brandon Inniss was back to watch us play on the Buckeyes off week and we got to spend some time with him after the game on the trip.” But, Bell is unsure of when a return to Ohio State will happen, “Not sure when I will be back at Ohio State. But it’s an amazing place.”

Furthermore, Bell is still early on in his recruitment process, “I am just getting to know the people and schools that are showing interest in me. Choosing a school is a big decision.” Bell added, “I am just looking for the right fit for me.” Bell is still a name to watch for the Buckeyes, but he holds offers from programs like Penn State, Florida, Miami, BYU and more.
