Perry Eliano lands his first safety in the 2024 class, one that will be a future star in the scarlet and grey.

The Ohio State football team lands a New Jersey star in four-star S Jaylen McClain. He becomes one of the first committed Defensive Backs in the 2024 Class and has the intangibles to be the next great Buckeye safety.

McClain stands at 6’0 and 185lbs and will bring his physicality, speed and to set the edge. He is a versatile defensive back who can play corner as well. Last season, he played on both sides of the ball as a very fluid athlete. McClain attends Seton Hall Prep in Orange, New Jersey as another New Jersey native heads to Columbus.

With the commitment of McClain, the Ohio State beat out Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Penn State, and others for the underrated safety. The Buckeyes keep the New Jersey pipeline strong as Coach Eliano and Coach DuHart make a splash on the recruiting trail.

During his Junior Season, he racked up 83 tackles, and had one interception. In his sophomore season, he started and had 71 tackles, and one interception. Expect McClain to put up massive number during his senior season as he will face fellow Ohio State Commit four-star TE Max LeBlanc and Baylor HS (TN). McClain will play against other talented teams such as Bergen Catholic, Irvington, Don Bosco Prep, and former high school of current Buckeye Jayden Bonsu, St. Peter’s Prep.

Expect McClain to be a top safety by the end of his senior season. His potential is through the roof and will tremendously grow once he gets to Columbus. The Buckeyes get a great commitment in the New Jersey Star. Buckeye Nation, be happy with the addition of McClain.
