The Ohio State football team adds another member to its 2023 squad as former Notre Dame WR Lorenzo Styles Jr. transfer to the Buckeyes.
Former Notre Dame wide receiver and Pickerington, Ohio native, Lorenzo Styles, entered the transfer portal Friday afternoon. But his stay wasn’t very long as he has committed to play for Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The young talent played in 26 games for the Fighting Irish, including eight starts during the 2022 season. Styles compiled 54 catches for 684 yards and two touchdowns in his time in South Bend.
As a four-star prospect for Pickerington Central, the former Top-70 recruit in the 2021 class eyed a potential return to his home state for over a year.
Clay Hall of WSYX ABC6 in Columbus reported last Friday that Lorenzo Styles would, in fact, visit Ohio State in the coming days and was open to making a position switch.
Just spoke with Lorenzo Styles Sr who tells me Lorenzo Jr will take some visits including Ohio State after going in portal today. The ND junior was a 5⭐️ DB & a 4⭐️ WR coming out of Pick Central. He caught 54 balls @ ND. Open to playing defense. @TheFeverABC6

As a wide receiver, there may not be a more crowded room than Brian Hartline’s for Ohio State. The Scarlet and Gray are littered with talent from top to bottom, so making a position switch will be the most likely option for Styles in Columbus. The transfer did begin taking reps at cornerback during the Spring yet still felt the need to exit South Bend.
Lorenzo Styles was a two-way player in high school as he doubled as an outstanding defensive back. Switching to that side of the ball is the pathway for Styles to make an impact quickly as a Buckeye, joining his brother Sonny.
Jim Knowles adds another tremendous player to an already veteran defense. The Silver Bullets should be one of the top defenses in the country in 2023.
