The Buckeyes have lost a member of their 2023 recruiting class as four-star quarterback Brock Glenn announced today that he would be de-committing from Ohio State and flip to Florida State.

Glenn, the No. 22 overall quarterback in the 2023 class, originally committed to Ohio State back on July 30, 2022 over offers from schools such as Florida State, LSU, and Auburn. Ohio State had Glenn sandwiched around elite quarterback recruits Kyle McCord, Devin Brown, and Dylan Raiola, and it was well-known that the Buckeyes were simply looking for more depth in the room with the impending departure of elite gunslinger CJ Stroud, as well as to protect them against a future transfer from one of the aforementioned players.
At this time, it seems that this was a parting of the ways that will allow Glenn to potentially head to a school where he could play more immediate snaps. With Glenn’s departure, Ohio State will surely be probing the rest of the country in search of a new 2023 quarterback, and could potentially head to the transfer portal themselves. The Buckeyes have taken two quarterbacks out of the transfer portal in recent years: Chris Chugunov (West Virginia) and of course Justin Fields (Georgia). One name to watch in the 2023 class could be current Washington commit Lincoln Kienholz from South Dakota. If there’s one thing Buckeye fans can trust, though, it’s Ryan Day’s eye for quarterbacks.
