BOOM! Four-Star Runningback Mark Fletcher Commits to Ohio State!

The Buckeyes have officially netted their first Runningback commitment in the 2023 cycle when Mark Fletcher made announcement today via Twitter. The Buckeyes now hold seven verbal commitments in the 2023 class. With the addition of Fletcher the Buckeyes now hold the number one class in the Big Ten by the 247 composite.

Fletcher is ranked as a top 10 RB in the country and is ranked as the No.153 player overall. Fletcher comes to the Buckeyes as a 6-foot-1, 220-pound power back. The Buckeyes staff is looking to take two RB’s in this cycle with having two very different style rushers. One bringing power and speed while the other back they’re looking to add will bring elite speed and  home run capabilities. The American Heritage Plantation RB will fit the mold of the power back with speed while also providing some home run capabilities.

The Buckeyes win a major recruiting battle here as Fletcher had a final top four consisting of Ohio State, Miami, Michigan and Penn State. Any time the Buckeyes can take a priority target out of the state of Florida it’s considered win. Furthermore, this commitment brings a lot implications towards some other major targets in the 2023 class. Ohio State’s staff is still trying to solidify commitments from Fletcher’s high school teammates Brandon Innis and Daemon Fagan. With Fletcher being the first to pledge his services to the scarlet and gray among the American Heritage targets, the Buckeyes are hoping for more good news soon. One thing is for sure though, Ohio State landed a gamer in Fletcher.
