While getting settled at Ohio State, recently hired OL Coach Tyler Bowen extended an offer to an impressive offensive lineman, 2026 four-star OL Deacon Schmitt out of  Windsor High School (CO). Buckeyes are now involved in one of the top blue-chip prospects in the country. Schmitt spoke very highly of the Buckeyes and their national championship. The Colorado native spoke to The Silver Bulletin about the offer and his interest in Ohio State.

The Offer

To dive in, Schmitt is planning on getting to Columbus soon. He said, “Yes I do [plan to visit]. Not sure when though.” Also, the Buckeyes have moved to one of the top schools in his recruitment, “They are up there. National Champions baby!” Schmitt spoke on what stands out to him about the Buckeyes, “It’s just amazing to have an opportunity to play somewhere like that. They know what they’re doing and how to WIN.” As mentioned, Coach Bowen was quick to extend an offer to Schmitt. He spoke very highly about Bowen, and a newer name to the coaching staff, Coach Charlie Dickey. Schmitt said, “Coach Bowen is a great dude! He seems like a great coach as well.” he added, “I know Coach Dickey pretty well! I love that guy.”

Furthermore, the Buckeyes offensive line during their national championship run was nonetheless impressive. Schmitt mentioned how he “would love to be a part of something” like that. But, the Buckeyes aren’t the only school on Schmitt’s radar. He has quite an impressive list of offers, and schools pursuing him. He is currently in the process of cutting his schools down.  Some of those that are most likely to make his list are Tennessee, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. Expect the Buckeyes and Coach Bowen to get involved in this one. The 6’5 320lb OL plans on committing by late summer.
