Breaking: Ohio State running back Sam Williams-Dixon is set to enter the transfer portal after one season with the Buckeyes in Columbus.
Ohio State running back Sam Williams-Dixon will enter the transfer portal after one year in Columbus. He will not stay with the Buckeyes for the remainder of the College Football Playoff run, according to Jeremy Birmingham.
SWD appeared in three games for the Buckeyes this year – Akron, Western Michigan, and Purdue, carrying the ball seven times for 53 yards. He profiles as a swiss army knife as an offensive weapon and will be a strong addition wherever he lands.
Williams-Dixon is from Millersburg, Ohio and committed to Ohio State as a Pickerington North graduate as a three-star prospect. He was part of a running back tandem in the 2024 class for the Buckeyes alongside four-star James Peoples.
He committed to Ohio State in the Spring of 2023 over a few local schools, namely Penn State, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Those could be teams to watch throughout his transfer portal recruitment.
The talented freshman also took snaps at wide receiver during his high school career, which could allow him to earn time in an H-back role for his next team. SWD lost his black-stripe on October 30th, officially becoming a Buckeye.
