Ohio State Recruiting: 26′ Four-Star OT Micah “Champion” Smith Recaps Ohio State Visit

2026 OL Micah Smith spoke to The Silver Bulletin to recap his “impressive visit” to Ohio State on Saturday as the Buckeyes defeated Indiana.

The Buckeyes hosted some top targets this past weekend in their huge win over the Indiana Hoosiers. While both sides looked dominant, the makeshift Offensive Line had an outstanding performance. That impressed priority target 26′ four-star OL Micah Smith from Vero Beach, Florida. He is a teammate with current Ohio State commitment 25′ four-star LB TJ Alford. He spoke to The Silver Bulletin about his visit and more on the plan he has for him at Columbus.

The priority target loved his visit and spoke heavily about a “plan”: “Ohio State has a plan for me.” He said, “I like the plan Coach Frye has laid out for my development.”  The Buckeyes have been one of the if not the top schools for Smith. He has spoken heavily about the Buckeyes in the past. For example, in October 2023, he was on campus for the Buckeyes massive win over Penn State. Smith said, “Coach Frye is a very laid-back and chill coach at times. Coach Frye is a keep it real kind of dude, and that’s what I love about him.”

Further, just like before, the staff’s hospitality stood out to Smith. He said, “Every time I visit, the hospitality is exceptional.” The Buckeyes are definitely the top school for Smith and have a lead. But other schools are in the mix, as he just dropped his top six. It was also his birthday, including Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, South Carolina, UCLA, and Tennessee.

He described his plan for his recruitment, “My goal is to take a minimum of four official visits, no more than six, and make my decision before my senior season begins.” The Buckeyes are already setting a mark in the 2025 class, and it’s about to trend toward a strong 2026 class.
