With 2025 signing day just over a month away, the 2026 class is up next for the Buckeyes. One of those recruits that Ohio State is in contact within the 2026 Class is three-star RB Favour Akih, who visited for Ohio State’s thrilling win over Nebraska. Akih spoke to The Silver Bulletin about his gameday visit and recapped what he took away from the visit.

The Visit
Despite the close game, a lot stood out to Akih. He said, “The culture and brotherhood at The Ohio State University, everyone holds each other accountable, and I think that’s why they are so successful as a program.” In addition, Akih was a big fan of true freshman Jeremiah Smith, “I am a big fan of Jeremiah Smith, and getting the chance to see him in person was truly a dream come true, seeing his spectacular catches and freak athleticism was elite.”
Also, Akih has a great relationship with the coaches. He speaks to the coaching staff often, and “getting the chance to meet them in real life furthered our connection.”
The Buckeyes are a big player in Akih’s recruitment. The talented running back spoke about the Buckeyes highly. He said, “Ohio State is definitely a top school in my recruitment journey.” He added, “Being able to stay very close to home is always awesome.” Further on, Akih can see himself being an Ohio State Buckeye. He said, “I could definitely see myself in Scarlet. The Ohio State has produced a lot of electric running backs, and I feel like they could develop me as a player and a man.”

Although Akih doesn’t hold an Ohio State offer yet, there could be one in his future. He is a name to watch on the Buckeyes radar for multiple reasons. In five games he had 863 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He stands in at 6’0 and weighs 190lbs. His speed is a big takeaway of how he runs the ball.
Despite the heavy interest in the Buckeyes, there are other schools involved with Akih. Iowa State, Michigan State, and Toledo have all offered him. He spoke highly about each of them. Akih spoke about Iowa State highly, “Iowa State is a team that holds a special place in my heart, I really love the culture there and what Coach Campbell is doing with the program.” To add on, Akih was in Penn State to watch the Buckeyes take down the Nittany Lions in an outstanding performance from the Buckeyes.
