As of late, the Buckeyes have been putting their finishing touches on the 2025 recruiting class. As per usual, many other programs around the country and specifically some SEC schools are doing their best to flip Buckeye commits down the stretch. In today’s Bullet Point Session we address a few of those concerns as well as a big name to watch out for.

First off, it has been no secret that Na’eem Offord has been receiving a ton of attention around the country- being a top two corner and hailing from the state of Alabama. In fact, there’s even been a few other networks that have gone as far to say Ohio State has been exploring other options in the event he was to flip his commitment. I’m here to address that fact. I personally believe that Offord will remain a Buckeye due to his strong connection with Ohio State cornerbacks coach Tim Walton.

To be clear, Ohio State has continued to look into other corner targets for the 2025 class. That is very true. However, there is no correlation between that search and any flip from Offord. Ohio State is expecting the departure of possibly four starting DB’s following this season with Denzel Burke likely to be a first rounder, Lathan Ransom likely in the top two rounds, and Jordan Hancock along with Davison Igbinosun could depart if their draft stock keeps rising. Ohio State is simply preparing for what could be- seeing a large unit leave. This situation has always been just that, and not directed towards if Offord were to flip. I do believe he ultimately sticks with the Buckeyes over Auburn, Oregon, and Colorado.

There’s also been some push coming from some home-state schools towards Tarvos Alford as of late. Specifically, coming from Miami trying to keep the high four star Florida linebacker home. Again, Alford has been one who has continually mentioned development is what drives his recruitment when he looks at the next level. With the recent surge and development on display from Cody Simon and Sonny Styles, all is pointing in a positive direction that former All-American Linebacker James Laurinaitis knows what he’s doing with that unit. This is another recruitment I expect to see stick in the Buckeyes favor.

In some big news from the 2026 class, Jahkeem Stewart announced last week that he would be reclassifying to the 2025 class. The bona fide number one player in the 2026 class will now be heading to school earlier and has his sights set on a commitment this winter.

The Louisiana product definitely has made it clear the Buckeyes are a player here along with some other schools including, LSU, Georgia (still pushing), and USC. The Buckeyes and Tigers seem to be in the lead with Stewart’s best relationship being with Larry Johnson and LSU being the home school. Following the reclassification news, Stewart scheduled a visit to Columbus for the November 30th weekend. I recently received some positive intel in favor of the Buckeyes. I’ve been told the staff feels really strong about their connection with Stewart and even give the Buckeyes the slight edge over LSU as it stands now. If the Buckeyes can run the table this season leading up to “THE GAME” when Stewart touches down in Columbus, I think it bodes well for Ohio State to land the highly touted edge rusher.
