Despite the long wait, the 2027 class has already created a buzz for the Buckeyes, with Ohio State looking to continue the strong momentum they have built in the recruiting space. One of those names is Maryland native four-star WR Myles “Scrap” McAfee. The Buckeyes offered the highly talented wideout after a great visit to Columbus for the game against Marshall. He spoke to The Silver Bulletin about his recruitment.

The Offer

Before the offer, McAfee, and his Archbishop Spalding squad traveled from Maryland into the Buckeye State to face off against (Akron) Archbishop Hoban. A game full of talent. He played well, and was invited for a gameday visit in Columbus. McAfee said, “After the Hoban game I played and I did good. I was in contact with one of the recruiting guys and he wanted me to come up to the game, so I went up and the coaches said they liked my film and offered me.” Furthermore, the offer is a big one, “This offer means a lot because they are known for producing Wide Receivers. The high-level wide receiver talent year in and year out and the atmosphere.”

Additionally, McAfee didn’t go into too much detail, but the offer impacted his recruitment heavily. McAfee said, “They definitely stand high compared to other schools.” To add on, McAfee can see himself as a Buckeye, “Of course I could see myself being a Buckeye because I feel like I’m an elite receiver like the rest of them.” Also to mention, he’s played a huge part in Archbishop Spalding’s 7-0 season.

McAfee’s Recruitment

Regarding his recruitment, it’s fairly early, and there is still a ton of time till this one is over. But, the Buckeyes will be one to watch in this. He also likes Duke, Virginia, Penn State, Boston College, and others. McAfee could very well be involved with the Buckeyes 2027 Class, which is already looking promising as 27′ five-star QB Brady Edmunds is close to a possible decision and the Buckeyes seem to be the school to beat. As stated, the 2027 class can have a ton of potential for Ryan Day.
