Ohio State Basketball forward Colin White will enter the transfer portal after two seasons with the Buckeyes.

Travis Branham of 247Sports first reported this news. White will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. The Ohio native averaged 0.9 points, 0.4 assists, and 1.0 rebounds while shooting 39.3% from the field.

White played a minimal role in his time with Ohio State, averaging just over 8 minutes per game over two seasons. In addition, an ankle injury kept White off the court for much of his freshman season. Now, he will look to find a new home and new opportunities.

White is now the second player to hit the portal this offseason for the Buckeyes, joining Devin Royal. The Ottawa-Glandorf product was the recipient of the 2024 Ohio Mr. Basketball Award, given to the state’s best player. In that season, he averaged 25.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 steals. In addition, White led his team to consecutive state tournament game appearances in his junior and senior seasons.

This move does not come as a surprise, as the Buckeyes will look to make key additions across many areas through the transfer portal. White saw the writing on the wall, and the Buckeyes will have to find the pieces necessary to make a run in the NCAA Tournament in 2026.

Jake Diebler’s team is expected to be active in the transfer portal, which opens April 7th. Look for Ohio State to target size underneath the basket, as well as a veteran guard to replace the program’s all-time leading scorer, Bruce Thornton.
