Elite 2027 4-star linebacker Prince Goldsby committed to Ohio State, as the Buckeyes continue to bolster their recruiting class.
Missouri native Prince Goldsby chose the Buckeyes over other elite schools, including Miami, Penn State, and Alabama. Goldsby ranks as the No. 7 linebacker in the nation and the No. 101 overall recruit nationally, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 205 pounds, elite size is just one of the many traits that make Goldsby an intriguing prospect. Goldsby finished his 2025 season with 83 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks. In addition to his size, Goldsby’s versatility adds tremendous upside and could make him a candidate to see the field early on in his Ohio State career.
In addition to playing linebacker, Goldsby has also played snaps at EDGE. Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will be getting a dynamic player who can be put in multiple different packages. Goldsby presents another elite trait in the form of his athleticism. The Blue Springs South High School product also has a background in basketball. The Buckeyes are getting an extremely talented player in Prince Goldsby, and Buckeye Nation should be extremely excited to see what he can do when the time comes.
Linebackers coach James Laurinaitis adds his second linebacker in the 2027 class, joining Quinton Cypher. Laurinaitis has been a key recruiter and a dominant force on the trail since returning to Columbus after spending time with the Notre Dame program. In addition to recruiting, Laurinaitis has been a staple in the development of key players such as Cody Simon, Sonny Styles, and Arvell Reese.
Reese and Styles became the first linebacker duo from the same college to both be selected inside the top 10 of the NFL Draft. To put it simply, any recruit in the nation would have to think long and hard about passing up the chance to play for one of the best positional coaches in America.
Ryan Day and his staff are loading up on talent for the 2027 class. DJ Jacobs, Wyatt Smith, and Eli Johnson are just a few notable recruits who have chosen the Scarlet and Gray. On the offensive side of the ball, the Buckeyes have received pledges from Jamier Brown, Kellen Wymer, Jimmy Kalis, and more.
Currently sitting 9th in the recruiting rankings, the Buckeyes will continue to add talent in pursuit of the No. 1 class in the nation, a feat this program has not achieved in a very long time.
