Buckeye Junior Forward Evan Mahaffey becomes the second Ohio State player to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after two seasons in Columbus.

The NCAA Transfer Portal opened up yesterday and there have been over 700 entries in a little over 20 hours. The first Ohio State player to enter, Austin Parks, announced his intention to enter the transfer portal earlier last week and is now officially available to talk to other programs to find his new destination. Another Buckeye has now entered, that being Junior forward Evan Mahaffey.

Mahaffey spent two seasons at Ohio State and will finish his Buckeye career averaging 4 points per game alongside 3.5 rebounds per game in the Scarlet and Grey. The Cincinnati, Ohio native is known for being a true team leader and has been spoken highly of by several members of the staff.

This will be the second time Mahaffey has entered the transfer portal, he would commit to the Buckeyes after his freshman season at Penn State. We here at The Silver Bulletin wish Evan Mahaffey the best as he looks to end his college career on a strong note.

Mahaffey’s departure leaves the Buckeyes with two open spots on the 2025-26 roster at this time, pending other possible transfers.
