Ohio State Recruiting: 2028 WR A’Mir Sears talks Ohio State Offer

The Buckeyes are preparing for a big matchup against Texas for a shot at the national title. But that doesn’t stop their recruiting efforts. The NCAA contact period has restarted and that allows coaches to visit recruits at school and home. The Buckeyes took advantage and extended an early offer to 2028 WR A’Mir Sears from West Broward, Florida. He spoke to The Silver Bulletin about the offer and his interest in the Buckeyes.

The offer is big-time for Sears, “It really means a lot to have a prestigious college with the consistent success they have.” The one thing that sticks out to Sears is about a certain Buckeye, “What stands out most to me is they allow freshman to play early if you understand the playbook and can play.” He added, “For example a player from out of South FL as myself, Jeremiah Smith (JJ). He is someone I look up to, and is playing as a true freshman at an elite level.”

Sears hasn’t created a list of top schools yet, but expect the Buckeyes to be involved. Sears said, “I’m just grateful and blessed to have all my offers.” Since it is so early for Sears, he hasn’t thought of a commitment timeline yet. But when the time comes he plans on talking with his parents. He said, “I would have to talk things over with my parents. As we decide what school is in the best interest of me. Which will be in the near future.”

However, he has big goals for his summer, “For this upcoming summer I plan on getting better at perfecting my craft, getting stronger, and faster. I will also be playing 7v7 this summer. While participating in track.” He also told us some goals for his sophomore season. Spears said, “For this upcoming season I want to hit the 1,000-yard mark in receiving. Also, more interceptions and tackles than I had in my freshman season.”

Sears could be a big-time recruit in the 2028 cycle, but there is a ton of time remaining in his recruitment. Some schools that have offered are Miami, Florida State, Texas A&M,  LSU, and a few others.
