Ohio State Football Recruiting: ’27 Four-Star OL Jayden Dean Talks Ohio State Offer

On January 6th, the Buckeyes recruiting staff was on the road in place of the coaches who were preparing for Ohio State’s semifinal victory over Texas. Those staffers had the liberty to extend a few new offers. Well, one of those offers was to an outstanding ’27 four-star OL Jayden Dean out of Florida. The Buckeyes are a big-time offer for the St. Thomas Aquinas lineman. He spoke to The Silver Bulletin about the offer and his interest in the Buckeyes.

As said before, this offer is a big-time one for Dean, “The offer meant everything to me. Ohio State was the first school I visited back in January of 2024. I loved it in Columbus.” He also got praise from offensive line coach Justin Frye, “Coach Frye had me on the board and told me I was well coached for a freshman.” Furthermore, Dean spoke about what stood out to him about Ohio State, “They put offensive lineman in the league. They developed their offensive lineman and the best center in the nation played for Ohio State this season after transferring from Alabama.” He added, “That also was an eye-opener for me Coach Frye and his assistant coaches coached him up to be the best. I want to one day win the Remington award as well. That’s validation as the best in the nation.”

With the offer, the Buckeyes moved to the front for Dean. The Florida OL said, “The offer moved Ohio state to the front.” He also spoke about Ohio State highly, “Being a Buckeye would be a dream come true.” He added, “When Coach (Keenan Bailey) offered me I almost shed a tear I was pumped up. I wanted to scream with excitement but I held my composure. I absolutely can see myself being a Buckeye.”

Recruiting Timeline

Dean spoke about a timeline for his recruitment: “I want to commit to my future school this spring.” Dean added, “I’m big on commitment so when I commit I’m really committed to that school.” But finding that school is a process he will follow. He spoke about finding that school, “I want to focus on a handful of schools go to their junior days watch practice talk to the Offensive line coaches and get a feel for the scheme and how they’d use me and see what the best fit for me would be.” The Buckeyes are definitely involved for Dean. But so is Florida, Michigan, Louisville, and expect many more.
