2026 OL Darius Gray spoke to The Silver Bulletin about his final twelve, and talks where the Buckeyes stand in his recruitment.
The Buckeyes are one hot program right now after dismantling Tennessee in the first round of playoffs 42-17. To add to that fire, they’ve been on a nice run in the portal, adding four transfers in the last three days. But that doesn’t stop their focus on the next batch of high school recruits, which is the 2026 class. Well on Christmas Eve, 2026 four-star OL Darius Gray announced his final twelve schools and included the Buckeyes. He spoke to The Silver Bulletin about his twelve schools including Ohio State.

The Buckeyes are definitely a team to watch. Gray mentioned he wants to visit Ohio State before he gets to official visits. He also mentioned what stuck out to him from other schools, “The development at OSU is definitely one of the biggest standouts, as well as the connection throughout the sports communication (program) which I want to major in.” He also loves the coaches, and he said his relationship with them is, “Tight!!” he added, “I loved being there being around such great people!” Back in June, the Virginia native had the Buckeyes at the top spot of his recruitment.
The twelve that made the cut including Ohio State was Alabama, Michigan, LSU, Oregon, Georgia, Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. As one of the most sought after prospects he spoke highly of all twelve, “I believe that these 12 were the best for me and my family and what I want to do with my career later down the line during and after football.” But Gray also added three things he is focused on in finding in a program: family atmosphere, sports communication, and player development.
