The Rose Bowl is the most prestigious bowl game in College Football History, as the first Rose Bowl game was played on January 1st, 1902. As we get ready for the 111th Rose Bowl game, with Ohio State set to take on Oregon, let’s take a look at some Rose Bowl fun facts. 

      • There have been 15 Shutouts dating back to 1902 with Ohio State being included in a 28-0 loss to California in 1921.
      • There have been five times in Rose Bowl History that two teams have played earlier in the season, and the rematch took place in The Rose Bowl. The winning team from the first game has won 3 out of the 5 rematches in Rose Bowl History. 
      • There have only been two overtime games in Rose Bowl history, both being CFP Semifinal Games (Georgia vs Oklahoma & Michigan vs Alabama)
      • Ohio State is 2-0 against Oregon in the Rose Bowl (10-7 in 1958 & 26-17 in 2010)
    • Oregon is the first Number One seed to be an underdog since Alabama in 2020. 
    • No. 1 seeds are 2-4 as Underdogs in College Football Playoff History.
