BOOM! Minnesota OT Phillip Daniels Commits to Ohio State!

BOOM! Minnesota OT Phillip Daniels Commits to Ohio State! The Ohio native is set to make a return home.

The 6’5 285lbs OT picked the Buckeyes quickly out of the portal, finally giving Ohio State a much-needed addition on the offensive line. This one is very big as Daniels is definitely in the mix to start. He started the last four games of the 2024 season for the Golden Gophers, and will still have three years of eligibility remaining.

The history between Daniels and a certain former Buckeye is quite interesting. Funny enough, Daniels is step-first-cousins with former Ohio State OT and now Arizona Cardinals OT Paris Johnson Jr. The Redshirt freshman is young and going to be a big-time addition for the Buckeyes line.

Daniels wasn’t the first transfer offensive lineman offered in this cycle, but Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye gets one in and that could change the momentum for that side of recruiting. Regardless, this is a big-time addition for the Buckeyes. Daniels played 300 snaps for the Golden Gophers this season, including his four starts at the end of the season.

The Cincinnati native and Princeton HS alum is set to be a name to watch for next season at right tackle, and he could easily win the job. He’s got a ton of tools and potential. If Frye can work his magic in developing then Daniels could be an absolute monster.
