2027 California QB Brady Edmunds spoke with The Silver Bulletin about his offer from Ohio State and family ties to the Buckeye State.
Ohio State hosted its second camp of the summer on June 6th. They extended a few offers after and one of those was to one of the top players in the 2027 class, QB Brady Edmunds from Huntington Beach, California. The 2027 class isn’t ranked yet, but many analysts have called Edmunds the best quarterback available. He spoke to The Silver Bulletin about the offer and more.
After a great conversation with @ryandaytime I’m grateful to have received an offer from THEE Ohio State University!🌰#GoBucks @OhioStateFB @CoachRLarkin @HBHSFootball @CoachDanny10 @footballandlife @RickHagedorn @GregBiggins @ChadSimmons_ @adamgorney @BrandonHuffman pic.twitter.com/vVsiNz1qlk

This offer isn’t just another offer for Edmunds, as he has some significant family ties to the state of Ohio. Edmunds said, “This offer means a ton. My Grandpa was born in Ohio, so my family has been Ohio State fans forever. This one is definitely different from the rest.” He spoke on stands out about the Buckeyes to him, “The tradition. I’ve been a fan all my life, so I see firsthand that there is nothing like Ohio State people (fans, coaches, players, etc).” In regards to how impactful the offer is, needless to say, it’s pretty impactful. He said, “Ohio State has been a school I’ve always seen myself playing at. Even before the offer. So now that I have the offer, they definitely jump up there on my list.”
Additionally, relationships are building very well between the staff and Edmunds, “I have a really good relationship with Coach [Riley] Larkin, who works with the QBs. I have talked to him numerous times in the past month. I had thrown for Coach [Chip] Kelly in the spring and that was my first time meeting him. After spending an entire day with the staff, I feel like I have a personal relationship with everyone now.” As said earlier, he can see himself being a Buckeye. Brady said, “I could definitely see myself being a Buckeye. It’s been a dream since I was little. When I decided to play quarterback in 6th grade I set out a list of goals for myself, and playing at Ohio State was one of those goals.”

Furthermore, his recruitment has started to blow up a little bit. Edmunds described it as “exploding”, saying, “My recruitment has exploded over the past month so I haven’t really had the chance to cut down schools to a shorter list yet. But when I do, Ohio State will definitely be on that list.” He spoke on his commitment timeline as well. This is what he said about a commitment in the future, “It’s still pretty early to say exactly when I’ll commit but when I’m ready I will. Not a sure timeframe, but possibly in the next year.”
A fun note: Brady got his name from Tom Brady. He is going to be one to watch for the Buckeyes when it turns to the 2027 class time or maybe even before. I do think the Buckeyes are very capable of landing their 27′ QB early. Time will tell, and the competition is only building up. Edmunds has received offers from Penn State, Michigan, Texas, and a few others. The California native is going to be a big-time priority when the time comes.
