Ohio State Recruiting: 2025 Four-Star OT Shedrick Sarratt Jr Talks Justin Frye Visit, Interest in Ohio State

On May 15th, the Buckeye coaches were on the road, hitting the recruiting trail. On the trail was OL Coach Justin Frye, and he was in Gaffney, South Carolina to see four-star OT Shedrick Sarratt Jr. The talented offensive tackle talked about his interest in the Buckeyes to The Silver Bulletin.

Sarratt raved about the Buckeyes, saying “I’ve been liking Ohio State since I was a little kid. It’s my dream school.” He also talked about his growing relationship with Coach Frye, “I feel like we have a great relationship.” Coach Frye has been on a roll on the trail. He’s made a ton of stops throughout the country and has been offering top prospects everywhere he has been. Sarratt is definitely on the Buckeyes radar. In addition, his teammate,  2026 four-star OL Scottland Dover could be on the radar as well.

But, besides the Ohio State interest, Sarratt has a solid list of top schools. He listed South Carolina, Colorado, Florida State and North Carolina State as schools at the top for him. He also is looking at Purdue and Ole Miss. Sarratt had been scheduled to commit on June 14th, but he plans to push that back in order to have ample time to explore his options. Sarratt spoke on the most important factor in recruiting, “Is [the program] making me feel like I’m at home.”

The Palmetto State offensive tackle is going to have a big part in a potential state championship run for Gaffney. Sarratt stands in at 6’4 and weighs 290lbs. He holds an impressive offer list adding up to 25 offers in total. If the Buckeyes don’t get involved, we could see the Gamecocks keeping a talented instate prospect home.

Sarratt is rated as the No. 382 overall prospect in the 2026 class, and the No. 33 offensive tackle.
