On May 9th, the Buckeyes extended an offer to one of the best players from the Magnolia State, four-star DL Andrew Maddox. The talented defensive lineman spoke about his offer with The Silver Bulletin.
Maddox spoke highly about the Buckeyes, “It’s a great opportunity for me to get offered by Ohio State, means a lot to me.” Ohio State is one of his top schools. Maddox added, “Just grateful God has blessed me with the talent and ability to do things.” In addition, he spoke about the Buckeyes defense, “Ohio State has a great defense.”

Furthermore, Maddox spoke about Larry Johnson, “Coach Johnson has produced many top dawgs that play in the NFL and has developed many players. That’s something special to me because the goal is to play on Sundays.” Maddox has become a very sought after player by many programs including Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, LSU, and more. Another school to watch is Texas A&M, as his older brother Anthony, a four-star 2023 prospect, is a freshman QB in College Station.
Maddox plans to commit in the Summer, and is going to take official visits beforehand. Those haven’t been planned yet. He said, “[I want to] try and get them out of the way before the season starts.” =The Buckeyes will be battling for Maddox. Coach Johnson and the Buckeyes are going to be a team to watch.
