Ohio State Recruiting: 2026 LB Kenneth Goodwin talks Ohio State Offer

On March 28th, the Buckeyes hosted some of the best players in the 2026 Class. LB Kenneth Goodwin was on campus and Ohio State extended him an offer. The Buckeyes are becoming a top team for Goodwin.

The Nevada native had a surreal moment receiving the offer, “I got the offer from Coach Day in his office. It was surreal, I was excited and honored,” Goodwin told The Silver Bulletin. Plus, the defense stood out to him, “The intensity and effort stood out the most to me.” He added more about the LB core: “Sonny Styles stood out in practice and CJ Hicks. Big season coming from those guys this year.” Both are set to have a huge season, and Goodwin is one of many recruits to talk about the two.

Goodwin also had great things to say about defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and linebackers coach James Laurinaitis as well, “Both Coach Laurinatis and Coach Knowles both demonstrate leadership and effort very well. I had a great time learning with them.” The Buckeyes are primed to have a very good 2026 class, and Goodwin could be a name to watch. He is a very talented player- and a key player- for the Desert Pines defense.

The stud linebacker has an impressive offer list, with 11 other schools so far joining the Buckeyes. Goodwin mentioned Ohio State as a school at the top in his recruitment, but there are others standing out as well: “Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Alabama are standing out the most for me right now.” Goodwin went into detail about his recruitment process and plans, “The plan is to take more visits too see more schools and coaches. This year is really when I started to travel to other schools besides Georgia.” The Buckeyes have a real shot to get back into Nevada with Goodwin. As said earlier, the Buckeyes are definitely a school to watch for Goodwin, and there is a plenty of time for the Nevada linebacker to make a decision.
