On April 1st, the Buckeyes hosted some of North Carolina’s best in 2026. One of those offers was extended to four-star LB Thomas Davis Jr.
The offer was a dream come true to Davis Jr, “[Linebackers coach James] Laurinaitis offered me, and it was really a dream come true,” Davis told The Silver Bulletin. “What stands out about Ohio State is the family like environment, and how Coach Laurinaitis really kept it real the whole time and just knowing he’s such a great coach.”
Equally important, another visit is in the works for Davis. He wants to visit for a game and possibly a camp.
“They are definitely a top five school so far,” Davis said regarding the Buckeyes. Ohio State is battling Notre Dame, UCLA, North Carolina and others, but he mentioned those as a few on his radar. But he holds offers from others like Auburn, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, USC, Ole Miss, and plenty more.

Additionally, his recruitment plan for the summer includes: “I hopefully plan to take a few visits and maybe a camp somewhere.” The Buckeyes could definitely receive a visit, and they are going to be factors. The Buckeyes are scorching hot on the trail, and recruits are taking notice.
Davis Jr is the son of an NFL Hall of Fame linebacker, Thomas Davis. His dad went to Georgia, and the Bulldogs have not extended an offer yet. He is rated as the No. 59 overall player in the 2026 class, the No. 3 linebacker, and the No. 6 player in the state of North Carolina
Furthermore, Davis attends a North Carolina powerhouse, Weddington High School. They are set to have a huge 2024 season. Expect Davis Jr to only improve and rise in rankings. His frame is perfect for a linebacker, standing in at 6-2 and weighing 205lbs. He’s a physical linebacker as well. In his sophomore season, Davis notched 92 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception.
