Ohio State Recruiting: 2025 Four-Star CB Deyjhon Pettaway Talks Ohio State, Future Visits

With the finishing touches being put on 2024 classes across college football, the 2025 class is going to start heating up on the trail. One name to watch for Ohio State is four-star defensive back Deyjhon Pettaway. The Texas native is considering the Buckeyes heavily.

His interest in the Buckeyes starts with the coaching staff. “The DB coaches have so much knowledge and experience they pour everything they know into players and it’s more of a family love,” Pettaway said.

Pettaway specifically mentioned Tim Walton and Perry Eliano, “Both have told me their way of teaching and how they coach hard but love even harder, and it’s everything I’ve wanted in a coach.”

The coaching staff is recruiting Pettaway heavily. He also added that the “family love” as one thing that sticks out to him the most about the Buckeyes. “The family type coaching- it’s more than football, they want better people.”

Pettaway is planning on coming to Columbus sometime in the spring. He is also planning to visit Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and more as they invite him. Pettaway is a very talented prospect that has a ton of options to consider. Pettaway has family at Texas A&M and Oklahoma. His brother, Daymion Sanford, is a linebacker at Texas A&M. His cousin is a wide receiver at Oklahoma, Jaqaize Pettaway. Despite that, the Buckeyes could definitely make some noise in his recruitment, including the way the class is shaping up.

The four-star and No. 18 ranked safety attends Paetow High School in Katy, Texas. He is coming off an impressive junior season. Pettaway had no touchdowns allowed, 80 tackles, 1 INT and 4 pass breakups, receiving all-district achievements, and was an elite player on Paetow’s defense.
