We’re now just three weeks outside of the most anticipated match up of the year with Ohio State taking on Michigan in Ann Arbor on November 25th. The Buckeyes at this time will be coming into “The Game” as the underdog based on the Vegas lines, but on the recruiting trail Ohio State continues to dominate.

In today’s Bullet Point session we have some quick notes on some possible finishing touches for the class of 2024 and who to keep an eye out for in the 2025 class.

Starting off with the class of 2024 you can fully expect the Buckeyes to add likely another piece in the coming weeks. Who I’m referring to at this time is current University of Minnesota Safety commit Koi Perich. This may be a name not many are familiar with as Perich is a local Minnesota native but he’s the highest ranked player in the state and is ranked as the No.84 prospect in all of the country by 247.

Perich received his Ohio State offer only yesterday (Monday) but the Buckeyes are working quickly to get the high four star safety on campus. Perich is likely one of the most underrated prospects in the country but he certainly caught the eyes of Safety Coach Perry Eliano with a monstrous senior season this year. Perich just led his Lincoln secondary to a Section Championship while putting together a stat line of 13 Carries for, 153 yds, 3 TDs, 1 reception for 14 yds, while compiling 7 tackles and 1 interception on defense. Perich is about as versatile as they come for an athlete. Perich will play as a true free safety at the next level as Eliano and staff will look to flip him from the Golden Gophers as soon as possible.

Jumping over to the class of 2025 now, Ohio State has started off with what is sure to be another top three class. Obviously with a top three QB in the country in Ohio’s own Tavien St. Clair, the Buckeyes have lots to build on for this class. With the commitment already of four star corner Blake Woodby, the Buckeyes are also in a great position to land some more high profile CB’s.

Starting with the biggest news, the No.1 CB in the country Devin Sanchez is set to announce in January according to Steve Wiltfong. However, I’ve been told from a few different sources Sanchez was going to be ready to announce his commitment as early as this week. Whether Sanchez sticks to that January deadline or not, right now everything is pointing in favor of him picking the Buckeyes.

Not all things in life are certain, but one thing that is certain is Cornerbacks Coach Tim Walton has been a game changer for the Ohio State program. Watching the way Denzel Burke has been shaping into an early top two round pick as well as the sudden emergence of Jordan Hancock, and the stand out performances being put on by true freshman Jermaine Matthews, it shows how valuable Walton is as a developer. But not only as a developer, but also as a recruiter.

Walton has put Ohio State in great shape to land 2025 Devin Sanchez but many people seem to overlook the fact that the Buckeyes are in an amazing spot right now to land the No.3 CB in the class Dorian Brew. Brew the No.12 player in the country who also is a Texas native has made multiple visits to Ohio State throughout his recruitment, and one thing that has stayed consistent so far is his relationship with Walton.

Everything I’m hearing right now points to Ohio State being in the driver seat of this recruitment with a really great chance to land the top two CB’s out of Texas. Brew has no timeline at the moment for a commitment but do not be surprised to see it happen out of nowhere between now and January.
