Ohio State Recruiting: Recently Offered Four-Star 2025 WR Daylan McCutcheon Talks Offer, Visit

This past Saturday, the Buckeyes hosted over 80+ recruits on campus in their dominant win over Penn State.

One of those visitors was 2025 four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon from Lucas, Texas. He attends the same high school as 2024 Ohio State commitment, four-star LB Payton Pierce. Going into the visit, McCutcheon did not have an offer from the Buckeyes but returned to Texas with an offer in hand from Ryan Day and Brian Hartline.

First, McCutcheon had a great visit and enjoyed it very much, “The feeling was amazing and I wish to go back again,” he said Two things stood out to him about Ohio State, “The atmosphere and, how big the facilities were.” The atmosphere in his words was, “Very intense and loud.” He got to meet Ohio State Star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr as well which stood out to him a lot.

While Ohio State’s interest is new to McCutcheon and he is still in the midst of the recruiting process, he had encouraging words to say about the Buckeyes. “It’s going great, the coaching staff is still brand new to me and my family. I look forward to building a closer bond with them.” His favorite part of his visit was speaking with Day and Hartline. The Buckeyes have put themselves into a great spot at the top of his list but there is still plenty of time to go in his recruitment.

Finally, the Texas star and Jaxon Smith-Njigba look alike plans on getting back in the Spring. He is having a really solid junior season as well, being a key for the Lovejoy offense. McCutcheon is rated as a four-star per the  247Sports Composite rankings. Besides the offer from the Buckeyes, he holds offers from other notable programs such as, Florida State, Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, and more.
