On Monday, the Buckeyes extended a few offers to recruits in the 2025 class, including one to Texas four-star DL Landon Rink. Rink’s recruitment is starting up pretty quickly, with Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and more all in the mix for the talented defensive lineman.
Extremely blessed to announce that I have been offered by The Ohio State University @R2X_Rushmen1 @CoachTimWalton @ryandaytime @Perroni247 @adamgorney pic.twitter.com/KK4n060szF

Although, he is a Texas Longhorns legacy, the Buckeyes have his interest. “An offer from Ohio State means so much to me, like a dream come true because me and my dad have been watching and using techniques that coach Johnson has used for the longest time.” ย Rink is a player the Buckeyes would love coming in, already knowing coach Johnson’s drills and more. But the Buckeyes are going to do what they can. Rink’s interest in Ohio State is more than a dream, ” I have a very high interest in Ohio State because of their history of excellence, their development, and their ability to put me where I want to be.”

Rink described the feeling of getting the offer as well: “Coach Walton came to my and after my practice we called Coach Johnson and they extended the offer.” Rink added, “He was saying that it was finally time to get the show on the road and kind of like officially start my recruitment.” The Buckeyes staff is busy on the recruiting trail after their 17-14 win over Notre Dame in South Bend. Rink was one of many recruiting stops for the staff.

Despite the Buckeyes catching his eye, Rink plans on figuring out what schools he wants to visit. “Right now in my recruiting process I am just trying to figure everything out and where I want to go visit soon.” But speaking of visits, Rink plans on visiting Oklahoma this weekend and Texas A&M the next. The schools standing out to the Texas DL are a very specific group, “Definitely Ohio State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas, and Notre Dame because they are all keeping in touch with me a lot and really building a great connection with me.”
