Running Back Miyan Williams Set to Return to Ohio State in 2023

After hinting about his decision on social media, Ohio State running back Miyan Williams will return to Columbus for the 2023 season, he confirmed to the Columbus Dispatch. It will be the fourth season with the Buckeyes for Williams.

Williams, a former three-star recruit in the class of 2020, battled injury this season but was one of Ohio State’s most productive players when healthy. Hailing from Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati, Williams rushed for 825 yards and 14 touchdowns on 128 carries (all career-highs) this past season, but missed several games and was limited in others due to consistent leg injuries. His 825 yards on 128 carries is good for a 6.4 average yards per carry, which was the best on the team.

He rushed for just eight yards on three carries (and added a touchdown) after being limited with an illness and other physical injuries during the College Football Playoff.

His return provides another boost to an Ohio State running back room that is expected to return all of TreVeyon Henderson, Dallan Hayden, Evan Pryor (who missed 2022 due to injury), and former linebacker Chip Trayanum.
