Dre’Mont Jones Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Former Ohio State players have been dominating in the NFL this season and they just picked up another accolade as former Buckeye defensive lineman and current Denver Bronco Dre’Mont Jones has been named AFC Player of the Week.

Jones, in his fourth NFL season, recorded a season-high seven tackles to go along with three tackles for loss and a sack. He is tied for 13th in the NFL this season with 5.5 sacks. With the recent trade of Bradley Chubb to Miami, Jones is expected to now have an even larger role on the Denver defensive line alongside former Ohio State teammate Baron Browning.

Jones needs just one more tackle for loss this season to match his career high (nine). He is the first Bronco to win Defensive Player of the Week this season, and the first Buckeye to earn the honor in 2022.
