After a stellar performance against Notre Dame, Ohio State linebacker Tommy Eichenberg has been named the Bronco Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week.

Eichenberg recorded nine tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks as part of Ohio State’s stifling defensive effort against the Irish, which led to a 21-10 Buckeye victory. This honor automatically places the junior linebacker on the Bronco Nagurski Trophy watch list, which honors the best defensive player in college football. The Buckeye defense is off to a great start under new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles.
Ohio State takes on Arkansas State this week in Columbus. The Buckeyes are 45-point favorites as they look to improve to 2-0 on the young 2022 season.
