Ohio State basketball lost a 2023 commit today when four-star guard George Washington III announced he would re-open his recruitment.

Washington is rated as the No. 106 overall player in the country and the No. 18 shooting guard. Originally from Louisville, the four-star is now attending Chaminade Julienne high school in Dayton. Washington was the first commit in a 2023 Ohio State class that was rated as the No. 5 class in the country prior to his departure.
Ohio State is now down to three commits: Scottie Middleton, Devin Royal, and Austin Parks. The Buckeyes have also been linked to an extremely high-profile 2023 recruit, Bronny James, who took a visit to Columbus last week for Ohio State football’s big victory over Notre Dame. James is rated as the No. 41 overall player in the 2023 class.
