BOOM! Four-star Safety Jayden Bonsu has committed to Ohio State over Michigan State and Miami. His recruitment was initially trending toward the Hurricanes, but the Buckeyes made a strong push and closing argument to seal the deal in an excellent recruiting victory.

Bonsu is the No. 4 overall player in New Jersey and No. 22 nationally which equals his a huge pickup for the Buckeyes. Ohio State had a defensive void with the recent decommitment from Dijon Johnson, but the 6-foot-1 Bonsu is eager to develop under Coach Perry Eliano.
This commitment likely wraps up the Buckeyes 2023 Safeties group as Bonsu joins Malik Hartford and Cedrick Hawkins in the class.
Jayden has taken his time with his recruitment as he has carefully evaluated the changing landscape, which means the 210-pound Jersey City standout feels confident in his decision to take his talents to Columbus.
Bonsu fits the new 4-2-5 scheme DC Jim Knowles likes to run because of his physicality and larger frame that can allow him to be an auxiliary linebacker on the field. It’s difficult to play with two linebackers in the Big Ten due to the bruising style of football, but having DBs like Ronnie Hickman, Sonny Styles, Kourt Williams, and now Jayden Bonsu bridges the gap for Knowles.
