BOOM! Three-Star Connecticut Offensive Tackle Miles Walker Commits to Ohio State

The number one class in the 2023 cycle continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail as the Buckeyes have officially landed its fourth offensive lineman in Miles Walker. Walker hails from Greenwich, Connecticut and is only seen as the 35th ranked offensive tackle in the country, but make no mistake he carries the frame to be shaped into a monster already standing 6-foot-6, 275-pounds. Many may look at this addition as the unexpected add at the tackle position as for a while now the Buckeyes have been all in on five-star Samson Okunlola and four-star Olaus Alinen. The Buckeyes are still very much in the mix for both but after a few of Ohio State’s offensive line depth pieces either transferred or left the program for other reasons, Ohio State has been left with a gap. Walker is going to be a great project piece for Mickey Marotti and the training staff to build on while adding to Justin Frye’s offensive line depth chart. Walker himself may not been in the top 300 nationally by the rankings and recruiting systems but he comes with a lot of highly touted offers. Up until the Buckeyes became a player in Walker’s recruitment, Texas A&M was considered the heavy favorites followed by Penn State and Iowa. Those are three programs who have been able to continuously recruit and produce offensive linemen for the NFL year in and year out, so a Buckeye win here should be seen in a very positive light. With the addition of Walker, Ohio State remains as the top class in the country and continues to build on its lead over Texas. Walker also becomes the second player to join the class in the month of July following Jermaine Mathews Jr. who committed on the first of the month. The Buckeyes are looking to build off an explosive June and it would appear that the Buckeyes are going to keep it rolling with two already and on the heels of some major commitment announcements this month.
