BOOM! Maryland Four-Star Defensive Lineman Jason Moore Commits to Ohio State!

The Buckeyes are still on a recruiting roll.

Four-star defensive lineman Jason Moore announced today that he will be attending Ohio State to further his athletic and academic career. The announcement comes shortly after another Ohio State target, Darron Reed, pledged to LSU.

Moore is rated as the No. 52 overall player in the 2023 class, the No. 5 defensive lineman, and the top player from the state of Maryland. He hails from DeMatha Catholic High School, the same institution that produced former Ohio State and current Washington Commanders star Chase Young.

Thought to be a Notre Dame lean for a long time, Moore’s interest in the Buckeyes picked up heavily after his official visit to Columbus in late June. The Buckeyes, led by legendary defensive line coach Larry Johnson, came on strong to overtake the Irish, as well as Penn State, Michigan, and Maryland, to land Moore’s services.

Ohio State’s No. 1 ranked 2023 class now features two defensive linemen, with Moore joining Will Smith Jr. The Buckeyes are still looking to add to that position group with names such as John Walker, Matayo Uiagaleilei, and Desmond Umeozulu at the top of the wish list.
