Ohio State has officially landed its first commitment in the 2024 class with the announcement of five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola. The Buckeyes strike gold once again in landing a top quarterback, as the Buckeyes have now signed Justin Fields, CJ Stroud, Kyle McCord, Devin Brown, and Raiola in five of the last six cycles.

Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day continues to build on his elite level of QB recruiting with the commitment of Raiola. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound QB has drawn comparisons in the pass game to NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes with the different levels of arm trajectory when releasing the ball.
Raiola hails from Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona, which is just outside of Phoenix and the same high school as 2022 Ohio State wide receiver signee Kyion Grayes. Raiola is rated as the No. 8 overall player in the country, the No. 3 quarterback, and the No. 1 player from the state of Arizona. He also held offers from Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, and USC, among others.
Ohio State has not been coy about their intentions with the future of the quarterback room. CJ Stroud is set to start one more season in Columbus before heading to the NFL, which will then create a competition between McCord and Brown. The Buckeyes will likely not take a highly-ranked quarterback in 2023, resetting their room before Raiola’s arrival in 2024.
