Ohio State’s defensive backfield has gone through attrition in recent days, and now another name is added to the list as Andre Turrentine will be heading to the transfer portal.

Turrentine, a former four-star recruit from Nashville, committed to Ohio State as part of the class of 2021 and spent just one season in Columbus, redshirting and failing to find time on the field.
He joins Lejond Cavazos, Bryson Shaw, and Marcus Hooker as Buckeyes to transfer out of the secondary this offseason. Memphis, where former Ohio State safeties coach Matt Barnes is now the defensive coordinator, would seem to be a logical landing spot for the Tennessee native Turrentine.
UPDATE 5/2: Turrentine has announced that he will transfer back to his home state and play for Tennessee.
