Seth Towns To Miss Remainder of Season Rehabbing Back Injury

In the latest development for the former Ivy League Player of the Year, Chris Holtmann announced today that Seth Towns would be out for the remainder of the 2022 season as he continues to rehab from a back injury.

“I’m disappointed for Seth,” Holtmann said in a press conference on Tuesday. “He’s had a rough go of injuries.”

Towns began his career at Harvard where he starred for two years, winning Ivy League Player of the Year following his sophomore season. Unfortunately, knee injuries held him out the next two years before he decided to transfer.

Ohio State ultimately became the destination for Towns as the Buckeyes were looking for a veteran wing scorer to add to a potent lineup and the Columbus native jumped on the opportunity, committing to Ohio State live on ESPN during the height of the COVID-19 lockdown. It did not go as plan, however, as Towns played 25 games (zero starts) last season before the aforementioned back injury has shut him down for the entirety of 2021-22.

Towns can technically return for his seventh season of college basketball in 2022-23 but will turn 25 years old just around the start of the season. it has not been determined at this time whether he will be back in Columbus.
