Ohio State Set to Battle Seton Hall in Rocket Mortgage Tip-Off

The Ohio State Buckeyes look to bounce back following a disappointing loss to in-state foe Xavier, by a score of 71-65 on Thursday.

The Buckeyes will take on Seton Hall as part of a continuation of the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Tip-Off as games move to Fort Myers, Florida. The matchup will take place at Suncoast Credit Union Arena at 6 p.m. ET.

The 3-1 Buckeyes fell victim to a tough Xavier team in a game which featured a sloppy, sluggish start and comeback efforts that were stifled late. The Buckeyes have been led in scoring by junior E.J. Liddell so far this season. He also tallied a career high eight blocks against Xavier. Freshman guard Meechie Johnson had himself a bit of a break out game, a pleasant sight for a team in desperate need of secondary scoring. Kyle Young and Jamari Wheeler are also contributing on both ends of the court.

The 3-0 Pirates have dominated FDU and Yale in early contests while coming off a narrow two-point upset of #4 Michigan this past week. The Pirates are led offensively by senior guard Bryce Aiken averaging just over 12 PPG. Alongside him are defensive force, 7’2” Center Ike Obiagu and senior scoring guard Myles Cale whom leads the team in assists and steals.

The Buckeyes and newly hired assistant coach Tony Skinn look for a bounce back win against his former team. With non-conference matchups against Duke and Kentucky looming, this game lines up as a must win for the Buckeyes, as they look to quell early season doubts and right the ship.

Catch all the action at 6 p.m. ET on FS1.
